Guess what time it is? It's Mardi Gras time! And here in Louisiana, we love a good party. In LaPlace, we throw our own party every year on the Sunday before Fat Tuesday. The Krewe du Monde Parade rolls through bringing beads and fun alike. My Teen Queen, Heather, and I had the privilege to ride in the parade this year! I actually started the celebration a little early at the Krewe du Monde Royalty Ball on Saturday, February 9 at the Pontchartrain Center in LaPlace. The ball was a ton of fun and lots of people came out to support it! The next morning, Heather and I were lined up bright and early in our convertibles. Only one problem: the sky looked like it was about to fall. The Du Monde Committee made the decision to ride an hour earlier than usual in order to avoid rainfall. The amazing part is that it never rained! We had a blast riding and didn't even get wet. I'd say that's a successful parade!
