On Saturday, June 1, I traveled to Ponchatoula for the Strawberry Pageant. The pageant began with a skit by each contestant instead of the traditional Opening Number. It was really one-of-a-kind! The skits were hilarious and entertaining. Next, the evening gown competition began. Each contestant was absolutely beautiful. The reigning queen, Heather, gave one of the best farewell speeches I have ever heard. It included photos and videos from her year on the road. The new Grand Marshal and Strawberry King were announced, then the moment we were all waiting for came. Gabrielle Palma was crowned Strawberry Queen! I had a great time at the pageant!
